Dr. Lynne Mazzone grew up in South Dakota, graduating from the “old” Sioux Falls Washington High School. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology at Wheaton College just outside of Chicago. Before attending veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania, she joined the Peace Corps and spent three years living and teaching biology in Swaziland, Africa.
Upon returning to the States, she graduated from veterinary school in 1993. After graduation, she spent two years practicing in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Moving to Rapid City in 1996, she purchased Mountain View Animal Hospital and has owned it ever since. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, behavior issues and internal medicine.
Dr. Mazzone and her husband Erik have two daughters, Carly and Josie, two cats, Toulouse and Howie, and two dogs, Charlie and Marshall. Their daughter, Wren, passed away from a genetic disorder.
